CALC file open using the last window location and size

CALC opens an existing file with a standard window location, size and zoom level. It would be better to use the window location, size and zoom level from the last time it was closed.

Exactly that happens…
with me:
Version: 7.0.4.2
Build ID: 00(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Raspbian package version: 1:7.0.4-4+rpi1+deb11u3
Calc: threaded

It should be obvious that you need to save the file directly before closing.

Is this tdf#150236 (you never mentioned your program version), which is about restoring last application window size/position? Or is this tdf#41777?

… and what is your question to other users that you are asking on this user-to-user “how do I…” site?

Fill in the personal data in the menu:
Tools - Option - LibreOffice - User Data

It works for me in my LO7.4.2 and LO 6.1.6. Each LO version can remember its own stored location and window size where the file was opened and resized - on Windows 10 x64, after I have filled in the personal data.

And use the native ODF file formats.

Window size and location is independent from user details, and ever was. There was a regression in 7.4.0 (tdf# 150236, filed in 7.4.1) that broke that, but anyway, the statement that it’s related to user options is incorrect. Only cursor restoration depends on user name.

I see now. I have tried with one file only.

Retried:
The LO appeared with same position and size with a new, empty file, as it appeared with the last edited file.

I am a neophyte, please bear with me.
I now understand that LO opens with a given window position and size, and when I select a file to open, this opens in the same window as the first one. I guess that my suggestion cannot be done.

I am using this version:

Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e114eadc50a9ff8d8c8a0567d6da8f454beeb84f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 12.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Yours isn’t an answer but should have been a comment.

If you open calc directly, rather than from the start centre, it should open in the same position as the last closed calc document

Wonderful! This is what I was hoping for. Thanks.
Now what need I do to close this string?
