CALC hangs when I select a small block of cells

Previously I reported then I followed up that I could not reproduce it. Since then I tried with variious files, and I can reproduce it at will.

I can also report that when this happens LibreOffice consumes a huge amount of memory.

I recreated the file on Fedora Core 23, LO 5.0.6.2 where it works perfectly, then copied the file to Fedora Core 24, LO 5.1.5.2 where is has the problem. If you give me enough karma to upload the files, I will attach the file, as well as a screenshot of htop showing the CPU usage.

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.

Usually it’s enough renaming/deleting the file “user/registrymodifications.xcu”, it affects all the options in Menu/Tools/Options, and the files “user/basic/dialog.xlc” and “scrip.xlc” are overwritten, additionally custom colors in “user/config/standard.soc” are lost.

Check if you have a clipboard utility or “enhancer” installed like gpaste or CopyG or some such that tries to fiddle with the primary selection. If so, deactivate or deinstall it.
