Calc not saving in originating folder when doing Save as

Hello, I have been happily using Calc for many years, and when I open an existing Calc file, and do a Save as, Calc saves the file in the folder from which the file was opened.

For the first time yesterday, when I did a Save as, Calc started initially to save files in the Documents folder.

After noticing this, I then manually selected the target folder. This works fine.

But from now on, when I open another file from another location, and do a Save as, Calc will use the folder location of the previous file I opened, which is a different, and incorrect folder.

So I have to be careful to make sure I manually select the correct folder whenever I do a Save as.

I would really like to have the original behaviour back, where Calc saves in the folder from which the file was opened.

I noticed Version: 24.8.6.1 was just released a few days ago - could this be a bug?

Thanks ahead of time for any assistance

Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

@mariosv - Thanks for your reply. I restarted in safe mode, and now Calc > Save as chooses the Documents folder as the folder to save to, not the folder where the file was opened from. So the issue is still happening.

I don’t have any Linux. Just a faint hunch: Do you (as the user as which you are logged in) still have write permission for the folder from which the document was loaded?
Was there ever a problem with Save ( no As...)?
