Calc saving documents not in their folders

Save as proposes wrong saving folders. Working with multiple Calc and Writer spreadsheets open, adding data and saving periodically in each respective file but, when I want to SAVE the file in the same folder with a index to its name (for backup purposes) LibreOffice does no longer show the folder that particular file was opened from. Instead, it shows the last folder I have saved a file to from LibreOffice.

This is most IRRITATING when using 10+ files, you may not realize the folder location Save As prompts is not the folder the file resides in, you save there then…after a time, you get multiple moments of "wait, I KNOW I SAVED THIS CLIENT, where the EFF!!! is that data??? ". After searching, I find the files but this is likely so easy to solve.

This behaviour is rather new, no more than a few months (took me a while to simmer up!)

LibreOffice knows the opening address of the file, that same folder address should be prompted by default in Save As and in Save.

Absolutely superb program, using it for 10+ years now. Keep up the standard!
Using LibreOffice 24.8.6.2 x86_64

Maybe the extension

can help.

Thanks, but the folder structure is also important, no use to have everything dumped into one myDocuments like folder. That would be useful only for forensics, not for using the database (folder structure and files within) as it is meant to.

If the backup would translate the folder structure inside the designed folder location, that ould be super (opened file from 5 years ago? fine, it creates the link of empty folders and writes the backup copy with the timestamp to its name. Writes a copy every 15minutes opened and on close…ooooh, Disk Space…the final frontier
