Can I line up/same size a column of boxes?

This is Libre Draw I’m working with. Trying to set up an organisation structure schematic. All new to me.

I have a number of rectangles with names in them like ‘sales’, ‘purchases’ and whatever listed down the page.

Each one was made with the rectangle tool and they’re all slightly different in sizes and in position even though I’ve set up all the ‘snap to grid’ things that I could find after googling. It’s a real nuisance trying to get them all the same.

I was thinking maybe it is possible to select them all in one outer ‘box’ or ‘cell’ or ‘rectangle’ and then set the parameters for the contents like we do with spreadsheet cells. Then I could set the one size and they’d all have it.

If not then perhaps they could at least all be forced to adopt the width of that outer rectangle, that’d be something.

Anything like that can be done? Or is there a different and totally easier way?

If there were a cell parameters thing that allowed me to set the params of each

Unfortunately, you do not mention which rectangle you are using.

There are two examples in the graphic.

  1. Text box
  2. Rectangle drawing object

You can use both.

When the object is selected, you can specify the dimensions in the sidebar (Ctrl + F5).
You can also copy and hold objects with Ctrl + left mouse button and drag them.

Sorry for my German UI.

… whats the easiest way to make them all the same size and line them all up?

Create the largest box you need.
Copy boxes, hold left mouse button + Ctrl and drag.

Then mark the boxes and choose the alignment on the left.

Then vertical distribution.

The one on the left. The drawing object. Resizeable rectangle. Then I wobbled the size around a bit with each of the ones I drew - and the location - so finished up a page of rectangles all different, as I say.

Start there: given a page full of different rectangles whats the easiest way to make them all the same size and line them all up?

I started off trying to draw a rectangle and then put a text box in it, too. then I discovered I only needed to draw a rectangle, was enough, I was able to write in it straight away, just like it was a coloured text box. that’s funny I think…
