I’m a new user, just creating a prototype database form in Libo Base. I would like to create a “sketchpad” field in addition to my data fields, so that I can make a quick sketch associated with a particular record. I understand that the various applications of LibreOffice are supposed to be coordinated, so I was hoping that the drawing feature would be available from within Base. I’ve made an image field, hoping to use the pencil icon at the bottom to draw in that field, but when I click on the pencil tool nothing happens. What is the pencil tool used for in Base? (or how is it activated?) Thanks.
[using Base LibreOffice Version: 4.3.5.2 on Mac OSX 10.8.4]
The icon with a pencil and triangle (Linux version) is to toggle between design
view and data access
view. One way, you can edit the design of the form, the other you can vieww/change data through the form. The available form controls are normally on the left side with an additional pop up box with more controls
. Does this help?
No, this isn’t possible in database form design.
