Can not reorder slides in Impress they want to duplicate

I have been using impress for a bit and just ran into this problem today. I was making slides for a presentation and when I went to reorder them instead of being able to drag and drop them when I attempted to move them I got a plus sign in a circle and it just duplicated them. When I tried to use the keyboard shortcut (alt-shift-pageup) nothing happened. I tried to restart the program and the same issue happened. Restarted the computer, same issue. New presentation, same issue. I am using windows 11 and am on version 25.2.

The Ctrl key doesn’t have something resting on it? If you copy something and then press only the V key, does it paste?
Does it happen in LibreOffice safe mode, click Help > Restart in Safe Mode > Continue in Safe mode?

Thank you for the suggestion. No the Ctrl key is working as normal. I did a check with the V key just to be sure and it doesn’t paste on it’s own. I didn’t know about safe mode, but when I opened in safe mode and checked it works as normal, I can pull a slide to reorder it. When I go back to “normal” mode or even when I open as administrator it does this wonky behavior of duplicating a slide and not letting me reorder it.

Your user profile might got corrupted.
Read this page carefully and work out what you want to do, LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki

I suggest the manual method. Close LibreOffice, rename the user folder to, say user2025-02-15 and start LibreOffice. LibreOffice will create a new user folder.

Close LibreOffice and then copy over the subfolders that you need (read the web page again to check) from user2025-02-15

Thank you so much, EarnestAl! That was the issue. I must have corrupted my user profile somehow. Since I didn’t have any customizations it was an easy fix! I appreciate all the help
