cannot access text taskbar in Impress 5.4.6.2.

I have recently loaded 5.4.6.2 and it has screwed up some of my Impress slides.
When I try to make changes to font size the text taskbar does not appear; the only way i can do so control L or R and this is only approximate: similarly I can’t change font colors without importing the color from another word or slide.
where’s the text taskbar gone?

Help! I’ve lots of work to do for my presentation.

you can use Text formatting toolbar from menu View - Toolbars - Text formatting
or
you should select your text and on SideBar open section Properties for formatting

Thank you very much. Both of the suggestions worked for me. It keeps disappearing which I hope to get used to or manage better.
