Cannot adjust footer height for left pages

I went to footer, then format footer, (I guess doing from page style is also same thing). and adjusted the footer height but it seems to work only for the right pages. I cannot get it to work for left pages as well. See attached How can I get rid of the empty space below page 8 , between red lines? and yes I did it when I was on both left and right pages. Same result.

In the footer with the two red bars, if you click View > Formatting Marks you will probably see two paragraph marks, delete the empty one. Or maybe there is an extra tab that needs deleting

First check out the Page tab of the Page Style dialog window, and see what’s selected in Page lay-out: you can select Right and Left, Mirrored and Left or Right only, Then select the Footer tab and tick or un-tick Same content on left and right pages, dependent on whether you want page numbers in the same position or mirrored. Also look at Auto Fit height.

Thanks for the effort to answer, but my issue is resolved very simply. I had closed the file, then I came back reopened the file and I saw that my issue was resolved. I have no idea how but it got resolved by itself.
