Cannot create Master document (bug?)

When I try to create a Master document (File>Send>Create Master Document) I receive an error.

I am using Linux Mint 21.3 64bit.

I use LO 7.3 system package, but I tried the most up-to-date flatpack and the same error occurred. It reads:

“Error saving the document Untitled 1:
General Error
General input/output error.”

Followed by:

“Can’t create document”

and where are u trying to save the doc to ? only happens w/ masters ?

I have tried saving doc to various places in home folder. Happens only w/ master doc (I can successfully create save pdf/doc.x/html)

Found the problem/solution.

I can only create a Master document from a document which has already been saved as an ODT document. It will not work with a doc.x, or an unsaved fresh document (even when ODT is set to default doc for saving).
