Can't modify style

Hello,

I created custom cell styles in a Calc document a while ago. Now I am trying to modify one of those styles, but I can’t figure out how to change it.

F11 brings up “Styles” in the sidebar.
I can apply the style by selecting a cell and then double-clicking on the style name in the sidebar.
When I right click on the style and click Modify, nothing happens – no window.
Also the Update Style icon in the upper right of the Style sidebar is grayed out.

P.S. Modify doesn’t work for any of the default styles either.

Something is not happy…

Greetings

I am having the same issue and yet I have no protected sheet. Anyone with any other solutions?

So, I have just noticed that this is only the case when I try to change page styles from “Format > Page Style”.

But when I use the side bar, it is possible to to so. I don’t know if this is a bug, but we can see how to harmonize this.

Thank you.

Got it.

Apparently LO removes the option to mess with styles when there is a protected sheet anywhere in the document. Doesn’t matter if you are working in that sheet or not. Doesn’t matter if the sheet is hidden or not. If there is a protected sheet in your Calc document, you are not updating or modifying styles.

so this is not a Bug ?

Thank you so much for your answer! It had been driving me crazy for so long…
I still think it should be marked as a bug and an information message be displayed

Thanks! Just got into it. Without this I would have spent much time.

To me it is undoubtedly a bug that there is no warning (when clicking on “Modify” and nothing happens because of the protection).

Not sure it is a bug in genera, since indeed styles might apply also to protected sheets, perhaps need a deeper evaluation.

Anyway, worth closing the question, it seems…
