can't open Libra office to open

Libra won’t open, can’t get it to run on windows 10

Version of LibreOffice in use?

can’t open Libra office

There is no such thing. It’s called LibreOffice

Does the following work?

  • Right click -> Run on Windows Start menu (or Windows Key + R)
  • Type "%ProgramFiles%\LibreOffice\program\soffice" --safe-mode into Open text field (including the double quotes)
  • Click OK
  • Optional: Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Click button Continue in Safe Mode

If yes - perform:

  • Right click -> Run on Windows Start menu (or Windows Key + R)
  • Type "%ProgramFiles%\LibreOffice\program\soffice" --safe-mode into Open text field (including the double quotes)
  • Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Select option Reset to factory settings
  • Activate [x] Reset entire user profile
  • Click button Apply Changes and Restart

I’ve noticed a huge problem with LO. The user profile seems to corrupt at the slightest provocation. Is there and issue with LO that is not being addressed? or Have disk drives suddenly become highly unreliable?

I’m not sure and it is for sure worth to keep heads up on this. But I also see people updating LibreOffice, downgrading and again updating as a standard problem determination analysis procedure. Addiitonally, many such non-fact reports in fact are caused by Windows Update procedures introducing new security features, reassigning file extensions to MS products and …

In this special case: OP even doesn’t provide any technical details at all and/or description of last actions being perfomed. As usual (and I don’t like that at all): My comment is based on no analysis, but searching for the needle in a haystack. In that sense - problem might or might not be caused by a profile corruption.

A search on Libra Office shows it was offered on Microsoft Store in July 2019 but no longer. Some postings on Reddit and other indicated some differences.

Maybe, @Derek5 is trying to install LibreOffice now. Change this in Start Menu > Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Choose where to get apps and select Anywhere from the drop-down list.
