Can't paste in Slide-Pane

Just switched to MX-Linux and ran into a glitch.

I have a lengthy slideshow created, but need to duplicate slides and move them to a new area. In the past, I could right-click a slide, select Copy, move to where I wanted it in the Slide-Pane, and then Paste it as a new slide. Now, when I select Copy, move to where I want the new slide, and click Paste, it doesn’t create a new slide; instead, it simply copies information back onto the existing slide.

I purged LibreOffice, went to libreoffice.org, download the DEB installer, and updated to the latest version. No luck.

I know I can Duplicate a slide and move it, but when you’re talking a show of 50+ slides and a dozen edits, that’s a LOT of dragging.

I’m assuming it’s just a setting that I’m missing and hopefully y’all can help. Thanks in advance!

Copy slide:

Right-click on the desired slide and select Copy.
At the destination, right-click between two slides and select Paste.

With me:

Calc: CL threaded

Yep, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Now in MX Linux, that option is gone. If you try it, it copies the content back into the original slide.

I’m just trying to figure out why it no longer works. Is it a Java glitch? I’m running “Debian Java” which is openjdk 17.

Any suggestions for when it’s not doing what it’s supposed to?
