Change multi-line selection box

Hello guys,

in LibreOffice Writer, is there a way to change the selection box so it only highlights text, so it doesn’t draw a box around everything until the end of the line?

What I would like to do is replicate the behavior from Microsoft Word:

You didn’t mention your purpose with this kind of highlighting. If you want to have an idea on the presence of trailing spaces, a much better way is View>Formatting Marks.
