Changing Font Color of Selected Text

Hello:

I’m trying to create a slide that I want to have a selection of text using red as the font color. After highlighting the selected text and applying the change, other text that wasn’t highlighted also changed to red. Is there a way to change only the selected text to red? I have a video clip of what was observed but unfortunately the .mov file type isn’t supported for uploading. - Thanks, R

Libre Office Ver: 7.6.1.2(X86_64) running on Mac OS 11.7.2

Thanks

What change? List the steps, video not needed or wanted except in unusual circumstances.

  • To change the colour of only the selected characters then click Format > Character
  • To change the colour of all the same sort of text regardless of selection, open the Styles pane in the Sidebar, right click the highlight style and select Edit Style. In the dialogue, select the Font Effects tab aand change the colour there.

OK, your steps of clicking Format > Character worked! Thanks

What I was doing was a right-click on the mouse and selecting “Edit Style…” option. From there, a window with several tabs appeared, I selected “Font Effects”

From there I changed the font color and that changed other text on the slide that wasn’t selected.
