Character being deleted automatically

I’m using Office Writer regularly and it has an annoying issue.

Everytime I type the acronym GWR it just deletes the W character as soon as I put in a space after the R. I’ve added it to the abbreviations list and dictionary but it still happens. Doesn’t do it with any other acronyms I use, or other variations I’ve tried (PWR,NWR,FWR etc)

So I currently have to find/replace or manually edit. Which is frustrating, as writing railway history article the term GWR (Great Western Railway) gets used a lot

I’m hoping that someone may know why it’s doing this
Thanks

It would help if you’d mentioned OS name, LO version, save format and, in this case, your language.

The fact that change occurs when you type a space strongly suggests an AutoCorrect action.

Assuming you’re writing English USA or UK, I looked at the standard replacement table and couldn’t find any candidate starting with “g” as well as “w”.

It don’t experience your issue but my English AutoCorrect configuration is “factory-shipped”.

Oh sorry, yes.
Windows 10, LO Version 7.2.6.2 English

Added it to the Autocorrect exceptions but it’s still occuring

You can try safe mode. If it occurrs then also, the replacement came with your installation.
If safe-mode cures this, the culprit is inside your profile. You could then backup the current profile and create a new one. Then carefully recover missing items from your old profile.

Rather than adding GWR in Exceptions, check if the replacement (GWR by GR) is added in Replace tab; if it is, Delete it. The Replace entry overrides the Exception.

That’s fixed it!

It was buried way down the replace list on auto correct. Thanks!
