Charting slow in Calc

I have a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop with 2.3GHz i5 and 8GB RAM.

Both versions 6 and 7 of Calc are incredibly slow to respond when trying to draw charts. If I select 100,000 rows and 2 columns then click the Charts icon it takes 1.5 minutes for the wizard to start. Everything after that is really slow and eventually Calc stops responding.

By comparison my old 32 bit version of Excel is really quick, but limited to 65,000 rows.

I don’t have Javascript or OpenGL enabled.

Any suggestions to help me get Calc to a usable state please?

Life’s too short, I’ve given up with Calc and using Veusz instead. It can handle multiple massive charts while Calc can’t even do one properly.
