Clearing a cell removes its comment. Does everyone have it?

Select a cell:

• Del >> Clears everything including the comment
• Backspace >> Dialog “Delete Contents” >> Uncheck the “Comments” box >> OK >> Clears value/string only.
  

I didn’t notice this before. Tired of recovering cell comment. Dialog setting does not affect subsequent deletion with the Del key.

Select a cell value. If you select a cell value (e.g. by double-clicking) and press the Del key, the comment will not be deleted.

same version (ubuntu 20.04.3 0S) it works that way for me too but it’s not persistent except in that session ie if Calc is closed the setting is not remembered and on next opening, the default with all selected (except Formats and Objects is presented.
