Colour of footnote number at the bottom of a Writer page

Many of my footnote numbers are red not black. I can’t change the colour. Also in the drop down menu bar at the top of the page, on the left hand side, in Set Paragraph Style, footnote is in the list and it is red in colour - perhaps hat is where the problem is.

Footnote properties are controlled by two styles:

  • note text is globally configured by paragraph style Footnote
  • note number (in footnote area at bottom of page) is configured by character style Fontnote Characters in case you want them different from the note

To be exhaustive, note numbers in text (this is called anchors) are formatted by character style Footnote Anchor.

What puzzles me is “Many of my footnote numbers are red not black”. It is impossible to change the note number (make it different from the first note paragraph) with direct formatting. Also, you can’t manually apply a character style on a note number. All note numbers are therefore formatted the same (except if you direct format the whole note) and this is configured in Tools>Footnotes & Endnotes only through character styles.

Please attach a sample file so that I can have a look to this “inconsistency”.

PS: whan asking here, always mention OS name, LO version and save format.
