If you did not set it during the installation of LibreOffice, you can specify MS Compatibility. In LibreOffice, go to Tools>Options>Load/Save>Microsoft Office.
If you e.g. open Writer, select File>Open and select e.g. a DOC or DOCX file and click the button Open.
