compound (hyphenated) words flagged as spelling error

In LO 5.1.0.3 Writer, hyphenated compound words are flagged as spelling errors even when the individual word components are accepted spelling words. For example, multi-sided is flagged as a one-word error, but both multi and sided are in my dictionary and are not flagged.

I don’t see a setting to correct this.
