Conditional text disappearing in opened docx file

Hey! Libreoffice beginner.

I’m opening a docx in Libreoffice. When I first open it, there are certain text parts of the document that have a grey box around them. When I click on the document, the text disappears. It turns out those text are “Conditional text”, because when I click “View → Field Names”, they are all displayed as such.

When I actually click into the field though, I just jump into an Edit field modal. There is nothing in the “Condition”, “Then”, or “Else” fields.

How can I preserve the original text?

Version: 7.5.4.2

Document type: docx

Conditional text is an advanced feature which may be implemented/encoded differently in DOCX and ODF (the native format of Writer documents). Manipulating an alien document (DOCX) with Writer implies a conversion occurs when you load it. This conversion is not perfect because the suites are based on different primitives. You can’t expect fidelity.

Please attach the document (or a reduced version of it still exhibiting the issue) for close analysis.
