Confused on how this Formula is actually correct and if it really is

I had at one time made a separate sheet when I was learning that gave me the calculations for G38-64 and I 38-64 and then I would refer that result from that Sheet to the cells and it worked.

I messed around somehow and for example in “Total Hours Per Day” (F37) if I put this Formula …
=SUMPRODUCT(NOT(ISERROR(FIND($F38,‘December Income’.$A$3:$A$33))),$‘December Income’.$E$3:$E$33)
It works perfect and is simple. It finds all the “Sundays” in the month and gives the correct result

In H37 “Total Rides Per Day” this works for giving me the total for 2 Columns for each day in “I38”.

All is good so far…
Here is what has me confused…
It seems to be working with all my testing but I’m no good at Formulas and how this one is working has me confused …

In cell I-48 Sunday I have this Formula …
=SUMPRODUCT(NOT(ISERROR(FIND($H48,‘December Income’.$A$3:$A$33))),$‘December Income’.$D$37:$D$67)

I didn’t work Sunday, I pulled down the Formula for the rest of the days and it works for the rest of the days and is correct

From what I’m understand in the Formula I’m telling it to “Find” H48" which has the word “Sunday” in it that matches all the “Sundays” only from Column "A " Row “3-33”
Ok simple so far

NOW the last part of that Formula is what has me confused why it works
$‘December Income’.$D$37:$D$67

I do want it give the me the result from say all the Sundays that total in Cells D37 to D67 and for each day and it works
If I add a number in any cell from C37-C67 it deducts that and gives me the correct result

I guess what has me confused is I’m telling it to look for all “Sundays” in A3-A33, and the last part of the formula D37 to D67 is the correct result if I minus challenges the number changes right.
I’m confused why it does work since I’m referring to “Sunday” but it’s giving me the correct answer in the Columns that just say
“Sun”, “Mon” etc.

Does it know Sunday is also “Sun” and so on
?
I guess I just don’t understand the formula in plain english
Looking at the code confuses me more
I’m clueless about formulas

and how I figured this out I have no idea

I can’t answer your question following the way you worded it.
It was difficult to understand your formulas, and to find out reversely what you actually wanted to achive.
Therefore I followed ONE idea about your intentions, and created an example containing some more general advice.
In short: First functionality. Cosmetics in a last step.

…is the second array to sum-product.
Go to G38 and press Ctrl+F2 to open the Function Wizard. It helps a lot to understand formulas.

I do that and see what it’s showing and I have to teach myself more about “Arrays” and how to create formulas and custom.

All them formulas work and easy to figure out because I’m using A3-A33 and getting results from Columns 3-33, but I48 was the one had me wondering how it worked since I think the formula is looking for Sunday in A3-33 and matching Sunday in I48 which is correct but giving me the result which is correct for D37 to D67 since that only Say’s “Sun”, “Mon” etc.

I assume it’s working so it’s ok. I really do need to star learning formulas, and how to create them in the Function Wizard.

Thank You
