Continue list numbering in heavily Indexed Document

I am writing a military-styled document that has 4 levels.

  1. Roman Uper I-X
  2. Alpha Uper A-Z
  3. Roman Lower i -xx
The problem I am having is that writer loses the numbering:
III. Operation Controls and Indicators The Equipment may be broken down into two (2) groups
    A) Pilot Controls and Indicators
    i. Landing Gear Lever
    several pages later
    B) Sensors and Relays
    i. Down-lock Sensor
    ii. Up-lock Sensor
    iii. WoW, weight on wheels.
iv. Nose Gear unlock / lock
    v. Various Relays.
    Then this happens:
    II. System Design
    III. Hardware
    IV. Interface
    V. CANaerospace System Ids
    VI. Software
    VII. Server
    VIII. Slave
    IX. Appendix

Any help please, I am tempted to go to an old copy of Ventura Publisher. (windows (:rage: )

It is impossible to answer without minimal factual information: OS name, LO version, save format and how you defined your list numbering schema (list style or direct formatting Format>Bullets & Numbering?). Writer doesn’t lose tracking without a good reason.
For best analysis, attach a 2-page sample file still showing the problem.
