I have a .docx Outlook attachment with a couple of photos which I need copies of. How do I do that?
Save your attachment as a standard .docx file. Then two possibilities:

open the .docx with Writer, select the images, copy them; switch to the other application/document and paste

change .docx extension to .zip; open with a zip utility and extract the image folder to your disk
