While I am typing my sentence suddenly disappears and I find it one or more lines above in the midst of other text. Is that something I do or is it something that just happens?
I am using Libre Office 5.1 in Linux Mint 18.2

Are you running LibO on a Desktop or a Laptop? Some Laptops have oversensitive touch pads and it is quite easy to trigger a click event without noticing it.
Thank you. That’s an interesting suggestion. I am working on a laptop. Any suggestion as to possible fixes?
Not really. There are settings that temporarily deactivate touchpad while typing but that does not help: after all, those unwanted click events tend to happen when you stop to think what you are typing. There was a time when laptops’ touchpad were at a lower level than the laptop surface, just a couple of mm, and those things did not happen, but then fashion came to laptops too and now touchpads need to be almost undistinguishable from the laptops’ overall flatness. I miss those old times.
I use a mouse anyway and I urned off the touchpad and it looks like it fixed the problem. Thanks a lot for your help.
