Custom Border style

Trying to create a custom border style that applies a bottom border but leaves everything else about the cell (including any other existing borders) unchanged.

Created a new style “Border”, set the bottom border to single black, and then double clicked the other 3 sides to make them grey (assuming that this is same as in Excel = ignore).

When I apply my new “Border” style it adds the bottom border but removes any other existing borders. Going back into edit style, the 3 sides I set to grey have not been saved as grey, they’re now blank, so that’s what’s being applied.

Bug?, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

In Excel, when you describe a cell style, you specify which formatting elements this style includes.

In Calc, when we apply a style to a cell, all of its formatting elements are applied. Today there is no way to describe in style and apply individual formatting elements.
This feature would be especially useful for conditional formatting.
