Please, when I copy/paste picture form the net in word, i can get rid of te background and change the background color of the picture.
Please, how to manage it in writer?

If you don’t care about color distortion that much, try playing around with the color options. View → Toolbars → Drawing. Other than that, you shoud use image editors IMHO.
For good results using alpha channel transparency is a must. For this TIFF and PNG file formats and a superb program GIMP can be used. But hey, why not read it up on google?
