Date control dropdown button too small

I have a Base database I use which has forms that include date controls with spin buttons and dropdown enabled. The issue I am having is that the date control calendar dropdown button is extremely small, (narrow) and I can’t find a way to increase the size. The same result occurs when simply inserting a date control with spin buttons and dropdown enabled into a Writer document. I have uploaded an image.

I am currently using Ubuntu 22.04 with the Unity desktop environment and have just upgraded to the most current version of libreoffice, (LibreOffice 7.5.4.2 50(Build:2)) I have tried the program on windows 10 systems with the same result.
Oddly, I have recently obtained a PineTab2 tablet which is running danctnix Arch Linux on the ARM architecture and version7.4.7.2 40(Build:2) and it creates a “normal” sized dropdown button.
I have tried going through the libreoffice options and attempting to correct without success.

Disable all gtk trash. Try starting libreoffice like this:

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice

Thank-you very much Villeroy. Starting it from the terminal with your suggested command works.
I’m not sure what I have to do to “Disable all gtk trash”. If you could point me to any instructions on that I would appreciate it.

Create your own start script or edit the existing one /opt/libreoffice7.5/program/soffice

export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen

The existing one is overwritten with each update.
