Default font in Calc

How can I change the default font in Calc? I’ve asked this in November, got a simple answer that worked, but I can’t find it now. My calc is back to the default Liberation sans.
I remember the answer that I’ve received was simpler that was below. Thanks.

I’ve tried :

Open an empty (new) spreadsheet

  • Go to Styles -> Manage Styles (or use F11 )
  • On Cell Styles (leftmost icon) Right Click -> Modify on Default
  • Select the desired font in tab Font
  • Click OK
  • Select File -> Templates -> Save as Template
  • Select a Template Name (e.g. MyCalcDefault )
  • Select a Template Category (e.g. My Templates )
  • Important : Tick option [x] Set as default template
  • Click button Save
  • Close your file
  • Open a new spreadsheet and check your new settings

It doesn’t work. Thank you.

Works for me on 7.2.4.1 on Windows 11. If you click on File > Templates > Manage templates you should see a green tick on MyCalcDefault template showing it is default.

Previous question was for Writer: Change the default font and size in writer

What does this step mean specifically? Do you create a new Calc document from within Calc, or are you using your OS file manager (like Windows Explorer), and its context menu New? In which case, yes, there’s still no way to do that yet, except manually replacing “templates” in LibreOffice installation directory.
