Different fonts sizes even though they are all set to "Default"

I am a music director and I use Libreoffice Base to keep records of the music I program in our church services. A while back I opened Base to discover that the font sizes in my forms had gone all wonky.

Even though there are clearly two different font sizes, they are all set to “Default” when I check the font in the properties dialogue box in the form navigator. How can this be? And how can I fix it? Even if I go in and attempt to manually set the font to 11pt or 12pt, the font appears to be not exactly the same size as other fonts on the screen.

One reason could be that you are using the database on a different computer than before. And on this other computer the font used before is not present. So LibreOffice uses a replacement font.

To be able to make an exact statement, it is necessary to upload a sample file, in which the problem is present, here, so that someone can look at it and examine it.

To upload, edit your initial question.

Might be it is something like this:
Bug 153343

Default font size will be default font size of the window system you are using.

@lfriesen Which system and which version of LibreOffice do you use?

Thanks.

I do have this Base file synced to another computer. Both computers are running Ubuntu, though it is possible that they were not the same version of Ubuntu when I first started syncing the file across the devices. It is also possible there were discrepancies between the versions of Base at some point. If that’s the cause, the question would then be how to fix it, since all the controls, labels, etc. are apparently the “Default” font and size.

I’m not sure I would be comfortable sharing the file as is, since there are names of individual parishioners in the database. Perhaps if I duplicate the database and then truncate I might be able to share.

Open the form for editing, not for input data.
Click arrow for selecting an area.
Mark all controls together.
Then right mouse click → control properties.
You will get properties for multiselection.
Now you could set the font for all selected controls.
Switch to a font which is available on all systems you will use.

Thanks. I hadn’t clued in that it would be possible to change all the fonts and sizes this way all at once. That saves me the tedious task of having to change them all individually.
