I just registered my new account. I was surprised to find that there were several problems in doing so. The main problems were:

After completing the form to create a new account, I was unable to login, as though the account did not exist. I tried using “Lost Password”, but the username and email address were both unrecognized. I discovered, with the help of an AI bot, that a verification email had been sent to me. I don’t have email on this computer, so it was a bit of a hassle to authenticate. My suggestion would be that you change your registration to inform users that their account is only partially created, and that they need to click a link sent by email to continue.

After email verification, I got a login form. After completing that form I got a Modify Account form. After clicking Submit I got the same form again, in an infinite loop. I checked with the AI bot again, and this too is a known problem. I tried clearing cookies but that did not solve the problem. Finally, I started over with the Help page and finally was able to login to this LibreOffice forum successfully.
My suggestion, in view of the fact that these problems have been known for some time, is that they get fixed with a higher priority than they have at present.
These problems give a poor welcome to newcomers.
