"Disable hardware acceleration": how long will it be disabled?

In my attempt to resolve frequent LO crashes (tdf#148051) I have uninstalled all parallel LO versions and made a clean install of the latest fresh version (7.3.1.3).

Previously, it seemed to help when I did a Restart in Safe Mode and chose “Disable hardware acceleration (OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan)”, and then “Apply Changes and Restart”.

My question is, how long will hardware acceleration be disabled? Will it still remain disabled when I

• quit LO and restart?
• reset the user profile?

In other words, under what circumstances do I need to redo “Disable hardware acceleration”?

It will remain disabled, even through upgrades, unless either you change it or you reset your user profile.
