We have a use-case for disabling password protection as we have instances of different users sharing a single admin account and setting passwords on files which are then forgotten/lost.
Would be be feasible to disable password protection in the source code? and if so can anyone provide any guidance on where to start looking?

Different users share one single admin account and do their regular work under the admin account? Good luck with that…
Anyhow, IMHO there’s no setting to disable document encryption password functionality. If you want to get your hands on the code and implement such thing I suggest you start at the developers’ get involved page.

There is one user account on the machine and a few different users can use it depending on who is scheduled in that day. Having multiple user accounts causes other issues for us. As great as the password protection is in most use cases, it is unfortunately a small non-critical issue in ours.
I’ve seen the developers page whilst researching this, was hoping someone might have had a easier way out before it gets messy

“it is unfortunately a small non-critical issue in ours”, then why protect the document at all? It sounds like everyone there is approved for admin level access.
It’s one thing asking users not to do something, and another thing them actually doing so!
A clear indication not to give them admin access…
I’m afraid I cannot answer the question as to why rational people sometimes do irrational things!
A great deal of content is automatically “protected” whether I want it to be or not. I wish I could just disable all of the “protected” section making, "protected " lines and so on. If I want to protect a “section” I should be able to go back and “protect” it, if it happens to be being used as an exam or a legal form. But as writing program, why is everything set up to create sections that I then cannot type in?
Today I am trying to paste a photograph from my clipboard. But you can’t. You have to “create a section” which is in its automatic form “protected” which will ruin my ability to further use the document, because there will be an immovable object front an center in the document. How do we disable all of the write protections of all documents, permanently?
