Do daily builds come with lang helppacks. If yes, I have trouble locating where they are available from

I am on Debian, and I have installed the 24.2 version from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@tb99-TDF/2023-08-16_04.35.51/LibreOfficeDev_24.2.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5fecd865303b3f0a2eeb0b9466d2bcf23cfce068
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-AT (en_IN); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The installation goes through fine …

But when I seek Help for some menu item, I see this

The README within the tarball says the following

Installing a Language Pack

Download the language pack for your desired language and platform.
They are available from the same location as the main installation archive.

There are no lang packs in the above downloaded archive file, and there are no other deb packages at LibreOffice master daily builds

FWIW, here is a list of .deb-s that come with the main distrib

So, how do I get a local installation of help pack for the daily builds?

Do daily builds come with lang helppacks

No. Daily builds are some quick way to test last status. They are not full builds. Even if the README tells some static things that are true for releases that are intended for normal users, it should be considered with some common sense when seen in dailies.

Ok. Sounds reasonable …

It would be nice if I could run the dev builds with say help pack from released versions of LO that are locally installed (or the help packs that is distributed with debian)

I would expect that I may have to teach the devbuild where to look for the help pack. I have too many parallel versions of LO installed, just because of this help pack issue, and not being able to see help is a bit annoying …

Let me see if I can get any help from the XML file you linked to …

I can do better; I can use the help packs from local old installations.

To be frank … I don’t want to open the browser when I am in the middle of serious editing …

But no matter what, you will open a browser anyway - because the HTML help opens in browsers in TDF builds since v.6.0, even the local help… ?

You are right … I can just bookmark the local HTML pages. But I will lose the ability to jump right to the right node, when I push a button.

I agree that Read Help Online works even if you are Offline … It is NOT the browser that is the problem, but browser that is connected to internet that is a big problem.

I understand that LO developers are unlikely to put any effort in including a help pack in Dev bundle …

I just wanted to confirm that there are no such help packs at all for the dev builds. I will take your “NO” for an answer to my question, you can close this topic.

Thank you for answering. You acknowledge that somebody solved your problem or convinced you that there is no solution by ‘accepting’ their answer, i.e. you click the small square with check mark inside at the bottom of that post. Did it for you this time.

I am new to this forum … I will do what you suggest next time. Thanks for taking action on my behalf.
