I’ve got several files written in Open Office back in 2009 stored on a memory stick, including my CV. They were originally saved as .doc/.docx and /xls files. I was using the latest version of Ubuntu and OO at the time. I’m now using Fedora 16 and the latest version of Libre Office. When I try to open any of the files, Libre Writer/Calc tries to open, but stops after about 10 seconds. I have other files stored as well - mp3s,jpegs etc - which open OK, so I don’t think there’s a problem with the memory stick. Anyone got any ideas?

Also important whether Apache Open Office open these files? Download latest version of AOO Apache OpenOffice - Official Download and try. If problem is present in Apache Open Office, report it here https://issues.apache.org/ooo/enter_bug.cgi
