Document has no links, but I get "Automatic update of external links has been disabled"

I created a spreadsheet and one point copied in some cells from older sheet. Now the new spreadsheet seems to think I have external links that need to be updated (at least I think that’s when this started happening). I’ve looked within the cells and don’t see such references. And I certainly don’t want any of these linkages.

If I click “Allow updating” it tells me the external file could not be loaded and the update did not occur. Fine, I didn’t really want an update but the file is most definitely there.

Is there a way that Office Calc will tell me in what cells these so-called external links are located?
How do I get rid of this erroneous error?

Thanks

Have you tried Menu / Edit / Links to External Files ?
