Does the SMF-Extension still work?

I downloaded this and the extension works but I cannot retrieve any data from any source. I cannot find any recent communications about it. Does this extension still work? If not is there anything else that will enable retrieving historic daily dollar / pound exchange rates?

My LibreOffice 7.5 does not handle this file format anymore.
