Double click a cell a go directly to the referred cell - no hyperlink

Hi everyone! I am completely new to LibreOffice and only used to excel. Does anyone know if it is possible to to double click a cell and go directly to the cell referred, always? I mean, not having to do hyperlinks or anything, just by activating something that enables this at all times? In excel I had this feature.

Thanks!

It’s not clear what exactly you mean.
It will be good if you upload the book in .xlsx format and indicate which cell double-clicking leads to the desired result in Excel.

Sorry I couldn’t explain better :joy:
Great idea, just attached a file, just double click the orange cell  Thank you!!

TryingToDoubleClick

Well, I guess you don’t have the feature I was talking about enabled. When I double click that cell, it brings me directly to cell B2 in sheet 2. Like it jumps to it!

Then we need to know what that feature is, to be able to see, understand, and then suggest something similar. Is there a checkbox in a settings in Excel, or some help page on the Internet about that?

@SaraBAlves In addition, I would like to understand how you proceed to edit this cell. Well, for example, over time you will need to change =+$Sheet2!B2 to, for example, =+$Data!D21. You will double-click on the cell and instead of going to edit the formula, you will end up on the cell B2 in Sheet2… Or not?

Double-clicking on a detective line jumps to the referenced cell(s) and back. This works only with references on the same sheet.

Excel’s response to double-clicking a cell depends on the value of the property Application.EditDirectlyInCell, which can be set via the appropriate Excel parameter or macro. See also here.
If the property value is False, then double-clicking a cell will take you to the links in the formula (if on the same sheet) or the first link if on another sheet.

There’s nothing in Calc like that setting in Excel.

I may lack useful experience because I rather rarely use the detective features, and have experience concerning the editing of formulas or rectifying relations between cells including references where things aren’t that simple. Many -two or more- references in one cell are very common, and indirect referencing can*t be traced with such tools, but would need a “real” detective.
Therefore I wouldn’t expect things would be improved by mimicking Excel even more. Having entered a formula cell in Calc for in-place editing (F2 or otherwise) you get shown the direct references in different colors. Making the colored ranges sensitive for right-click, and offering a context menu then (including ‘Go to referenced range’) would be sensible. Indirekt references remain uncolored. There might be offered the “AI-analysis” of dependencies.
(OT? Feature request via bug tracing? Hmmm. Too many features already?)
