Drag and drop […] selection automatically moves up and to the left [multi-screen setup]

I recently had a change in the way my drag and drop functions. If I select a block of numbers, as soon as I go to drag it I get a selection box about 2 rows up and 3 to the left. If I release the mouse, the data is dropped there. If I want to move it elsewhere, I have to position this new box to that location and release. When I click to drag I notice the arrow has a dashed square at the bottom - since I can’t get it to work correctly I don’t know if this is normal, I’ve never paid attention.

Drop and drag worked correctly a couple days ago. I created a new spreadsheet to see if it is an issue with the one I was using, the issue is the same.

I don’t know if I inadvertently clicked on something to create this behavior, but if I did I have no idea where. What can I do to get things back to normal?

Using windows 11, updated to libre office 25.2.0.3 (X86-64) after this first happened in case it was a problem with the older version I was running. Can’t tell you which one that was. Logitech mouse with the latest drivers.

How do you select? With mouse or keyboard? With both?

I select with the mouse, click and drag around what I want to move. I didn’t even know this could be done with the keyboard! Having read on how to do that, I selected with the keyboard, and if I try to drag that selection with the mouse I get the same result.

Maybe you must upgrade the video drivers.
Try to disable [ ] Use Skia for all rendering (menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View). Also you can see it (Skia status) in menu Help - About LibreOffice, in the User interface row.
Also can test restarting in Safe Mode.

Video drivers are up to date
Skia options didn’t do anything.
Safe mode restart seems to have solved the problem.
Will restore to factory settings to finalize it.

Worked yesterday and marked as solved, today I’m back to the original problem so I unmarked solved. Only thing I changed was the default font, then opened a couple existing spreadsheets and entered a bit of data.

This first part is what I tried this morning; the isolated issue is below.

This morning started in normal mode, problem exists. Tried restarting in safe mode. Operation is back to normal. Opened the spreadsheet where the problem first appeared, in safe mode it works. Changed the default font. Still works. Opened a spreadsheet I haven’t used in awhile. Works in safe mode, not in regular mode.

I am on a multi-screen setup with my laptop. I thought to see if it was related to which screen it was on. Tried opening in regular mode on my laptop screen. Works fine. Moved it to one of the external screens, problem returns.

So I would think this points to a display driver, but all are up to date. Monitors are connected with display port.

I could just run things on my laptop screen but it’s tiny. Any other ideas are welcome.
