Is it possible to setup the navigator to default to “Named shapes”?
My drawings tend to have many shapes, all unnamed and I like to use the navigator to switch between pages of the drawing, not between shapes. Each time I open the drawing I have to manually select named shapes to allow this, otherwise the navigation menu is too long and difficult to use. I know I can use the next/previous slide buttons but when I have multiple pages I name the pages so I can quickly switch between.
Just to illustrate the question:
Good clarification. Thank you.
I am a heavy user of Draw. I would like to second rjobeirne’s opinion. Having the navigator to default to “Named shapes” is a very sensible thing to do. The ideal solution is to allow each user to configure the navigator default behavior i.e., either “Named shapes” or “All shapes”.
To go to a neighbouring page, use the arrows with tool tip Next Slide, or Previous Slide
To go to a page number, click Page > Navigate > Go to Page… This can be made into a keyboard shortcut, click Tools > Customise > Keyboard. Under Functions search for go, select Go to Page then in the Shortcut Keys pane, scroll down to and select Ctrl+G, click Assign , OK
After that you can bring up the Go to Page dialogue by pressing Ctrl+G
