Tried to follow what Help told we but could not get it to work.
I want to open two copies of the same doc - either in same or different window. I then want to be able to scroll them differently and then be able to edit/copy/cut/paste between the two.

You can achieve that, by opening once the file, and adding a new window Menu/Window/New
Did that - opened new window, went to file, selected same file and all it does is switch back to the other open original file.
Edit - sorry, I used the open new window - did it your way and it works just fine. Ths much.
