Edit dates for new year on chart

Hi, I am a new user and have an excel chart for logging work hours for each day of the year of 2011. I want to edit for use in 2012 and 2013. I’ve saved the chart as 2012 and have changed column 1 row 3 from January 1, 2011 to January 1, 2012. How do I edit the rest of the column without having to make 365 changes?
Thank you.

Mark cells of A3-A367, then select Edit-Fill-Series, Mark Date, Day and click Ok

Thank you; perfectly concise!

Mark cells of A3-A367, then select Edit-Fill-Series, mark Date, Day and click Ok.

Assuming your old dates are in column A.

Goto Column B and enter the formula “=A4+365”.
This gives you the date in 2012 with same day.

Now copy the formula all the way down til next to December, 31.

Select the formula cells from Jan 2 until Dec 31, copy them to clipboard.

Goto cell A4 “Paste Special” and check Text, Number, Date, uncheck Formula. Hit enter.

This should do the trick.

Type January 2nd, 2012 on column 1 row 4 and then select the two cells. Release the mouse button and then A) double click on the black square (on the bottom right corner of the selection) IF column 2 is filled with data until line 365 OR B) click and drag the black square (on the bottom right corner of the selection) down to row 368
