Hi can anyone help?
We use Zimbra and CRM for emails and when I have a long email that I want to crop etc, I copy and paste into libreoffice writer. However, as it pastes it leaves huge spaces between the lines and ends up that I have to individually delete each line etc.
Clear format doesn’t work and line spacing says it’s at single but still these gaps appear.
What am I doing wrong?

You aren’t doing anything wrong. Zimbra and Writer together play tricks on your back.
You copy your your email from a Web browser used to display Zimbra data. You don’t copy the email directly but some HTML contents which was generated by Zimbra. This contents is formatted with HTML directives.
You paste into Writer both text and formatting. Since this is not ODF (the LO internal format), some conversion is necessary. This conversion may be worse than the original depending on how Zimbra formats the email (e.g. it may line wrap paragraphs making thus each line an individual paragraph in Writer).
This kind of conversion may result in direct-formatting or some styling. In the latter case Ctrl+M or Format> Clear direct-formatting will have no effect.
The safest procedure is to paste as unformatted text. Of course, you’ll lose any eventual fancy formatting of the email but you won’t suffer from what you describe above.
