I get the error when sending as email attachment but cannot find where to configure the account
Depending on your OS; if Linux, settings are in Tools|Options|Internet|email. Mac is similar.
If Windows, the default mail application should be used, but tit needs to support the Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI). See also How can I send documents through email from LibreOffice?
