Export only certain section

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to export only certain section (or chapters if you will) of a writer document. For large document, it is simply not very practical to print according to page range (even more so when the structure of the document gets to change frequently). If it’s not present at the moment, is it a feature you would consider adding in the next upgrade?

Hi

Export parts can be done with a simple drag and drop:

  1. Open the document involved
  2. File New Text Document (or open an existing “target” document)
  3. Display the Navigator of this new document (View menu, F5, sidebar…)
  4. Use the dropdown (bottom of the navigator) to select the opened document in step 1
  5. Click Drag Mode in the navigator toolbar & select Insert as Copy
  6. Click in the Headings section on the chapter title to export, hold down & drag in the document window.

Done… and easier to do than explain :slight_smile:

Note: the text is inserted in a section that can be deleted (Format Section) if desired
