Exporting to docx enlarges image to outside the margins of the page since libreoffice version 7.3.7

In application a document converter with libreoffice 7.3.7 or 7.6.5 or 7.6.5 or 24.8, add an image to a section, export the section to docx, see that the image come outside the margins of the page.

asdfasdf a (1).odt (218.1 KB)

Alternatively, use the provided odt and convert it to docx in a document converter, 7.3.7 currently available e.g. here: http://xjob03.xait.no:1082/

Alternatively, convert it directly in a libreoffice application on your desktop

Expected:
It should converts ODT to DOCX without resizing the pictures outside the page margins.

reported as tdf#163459 - not clear what’s expected here (it’s not even a question)?

Is this .odt file created by LibreOffice? It freezes my install of 24.8.2.1 and Meta.xml says

<meta:generator>XaitPorter-5.0.0-19918_master_bfd9c35</meta:generator>

Inserting that same jpg inside a section in a new Writer document and saving as .docx looks same in Word 2010 as the .odt does in 24.8.2.1 for me.

What have you done to your document? It takes hours to load. Any action requires considerable delay before feedback!

You have an incredible mess in the styles (why have you so much messed up and patched default configuration?). A lot of character styles seem to be created only to assume the role of the defaut char. style in the paragraph style.

In the first line (Header 2), there is something like a leading tab extended way beyond the page limit though no tab stop is defined.

There are many stray images and tables in the document according to the Navigator. The Navigator mentions frequent direct formatting.

IMHO your document is flawed and probably non-compliant to a large extent. So fix its structure. Once you have a “standard” ODF contents, analysing your case becomes possible.
