Faint Gray/Blue vertical line before each word

LOW 7.3.7.2

Problem
Faint blue/gray vertical lines appeared before each word of pasted text in my doc following copy/paste from online grammar/paraphrasing tool.

Solution

  1. Select/highlight pasted word or sentence within my document, then Cntrl-F8: or Menu bar->View->Field Shadings. Deselect Field Shadings.

That’s it.

The grey spaces are probably non-breaking spaces. They don’t appear grey in print. In later versions you would see a blue circle.

To remove them, select one and copy it. Click Edit - Find and replace (Ctrl+H). In the dialogue paste the grey space into the Find field; in the Replace field enter a normal space. Click Replace All

Bookmarks? You can delete them in the Navigator (F5).
Just a guess. If do you share a reduced sample file (or at least a screenshot) it is more posible to give a better answer.

EDIT:

Bookmarks.
