Is there a faster way to adjust cell border widths than through Table > Properties?
I notice there are macros for splitting cells, adding/deleting rows/columns etc. in the bottom toolbar, however there doesn’t seem to be any for adjusting border widths.

I don’t think there is a toolbar widget (comparable to the border style widget) for such a thing. You might want to make a feature request on Bugzilla, if there isn’t already.
There is, however, a “Table Properties” button on the table toolbar, which I think is a bit easier than going through the top menu.
