saved BUT when folder opens for “Attach” they are gone
so I can see them and open them on my laptop
but I can not send them to anyone doc/docx/odt/pdf----does not matter
And what is the question? If you’re looking for some help regarding LO, reopen your question by clicking on … below it, then on the “pencil” icon) to clearly state what you’re experiencing and ask an answerable question. Mention OS name, LO version (best: copy outcome of Help>About LO) and save format. Describe step by step your procedure with exact (if possible) menu command wording (what is “Attach” above?).

OK, I sympathise for that, but, still, I can’t make up the question.
In short: you have documents stored somewhere on your computer and you don’t remember where. So, your first step is to find them.
In the absence of any information about your laptop, let’s assume it is Windows. There is a Search or Find function in the file explorer. Use it on either a portion of a name you remember or on the file “type” (doc, docx, odt, …). This will locate the storage folder.
I suppose you have trouble in “sending” these documents. Once again, I assume you are using a mailer program or a mailing page of a web site. If the documents don’t appear in the “attach” dialog, this may be caused by a limitation on the authorised file types.
Unfortunately in both my assumption case, this is not an issue with Writer (unless you prove the contrary by providing more useful technical information because we can’t see your screen) rather either with your OS or the mailer.
